Celebrating 30 Years of Vietnam Electronics and Radio Association

The Vietnam Electronics and Radio Association’s meetings were held on November 23, 2018 (internal session) and immediately after the morning ceremony of November 24, 2018 (session official). More than 100 delegates representing Associations from all over the country and more than 30 guests attended the Ceremony and Congress.

Attending the meeting were distinguished guests: Mr. Pham Hong Hai, Vice Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications; GS. Dr. Dang Vu Minh, President of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA); Dr. Mai Liem Truc, Former General Director of the General Department of Post and Telecommunications, Former Vice Minister of Post and Telematics, former President of REV, is currently Advisor of the Executive Board of the Vietnam National Assembly of Telecoms VI; Dr. Bui Manh Hai, former Vice Minister of Science and Technology, President of Vietnam Informatics Association (VAIP); Dr. Tran Duc Lai, Former Vice Minister – Ministry of Information and Communications; managers of Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Home Affairs, leaders of Associations such as VAIP, Digital Media Association (VDCA), Vietnam Internet Association (VIA)…; representatives of universities and institutes such as University of Engineering and Technology (VNU, VNU-UET), Hanoi University of Technology (HUST), Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), The authority of radio frequency management (RFD) ) …; and many scientists – senior members who have participated in the campaign for the establishment of Vietnam Association of Telecoms from 1965 and / or participated in many terms of the Executive Board for the past 30 years. Speech of the Executive Committee of Term VI by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, President of the Association, presented the review of the process of mobilizing the establishment of Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam Association started in 1965 with many scientists and lecturers, engineers, army officers, and police during the war against the US saved the country and agreed and persisted in activities, including organizing conferences and applying science and technology and budget, spreading radio knowledge , electronics, informatics to the publics…

The speech also mentioned the achievements of 30 years of building and developing Vietnam Association of Telecoms and Telecoms through consulting activities on important policies related to Telecoms and Telecommunications, IT and recommendations to the Government, ministries and branches and local authorities. There are recommendations made decades ago that meet the industry development requirements at the time and are still valid today. For example, recommendations on information security and recommendations on the development of a national center for high-level integrated IC design (Chip), recommendations on the development of electronics and telecommunications industry to gradually Vietnam. Designs and manufactures electronic – IT equipment (specialized as well as civilian) to serve the needs of automation, modernization and the demand for civil – electronic communication for 90 million Vietnamese people, etc.

In particular, The Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam held a national scientific conference on Electronics, Telecommunications and IT (referred to as REV-ECIT) for over 20 years and international scientific conference on advanced technologies. in communication (referred to as ATC) continuously from 2008 up to now with high quality, meeting the standard of an international conference of IEEE ComSoc. The Association also maintained the editing and publishing of the Electronic Journal from 1990 up to now, including the English publication “The REV Journal on Electronics & Communications” (JEC) published scientific research works with Good quality of researchers at home and abroad from 2011 to present.

According to Prof. Dr.Sc. Phan Anh, former President of Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam, representatives of the generation of senior members of the Association, evaluated: over 30 years of construction and development, the Association has achieved proud achievements, to become a prestigious organization in society, to establish the typical cultural characteristics of the Association, which have a significant influence on domestic and international agencies, organizations and scientists; He hopes the Association always has innovation to continue to develop strongly in the following years.

Speaking at the ceremony and the Congress, Vice Minister Pham Hong Hai praised and appreciated the efforts, efforts and achievements of the Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam for the past 30 years. Vice Minister sent congratulations to the Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam, and acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of the Association to the business community, society and the information and communication industry. According to Vice Minister Pham Hong Hai, 30 years of development of the Association is also a 30-year reform of the country, associated with the development of the field of radio communications and electronic telecommunications industry in Vietnam.

The Vice Minister instructed: “In the coming time, the Association should not only focus on academic research as before but should focus on research and development of practical and valuable innovations and technical solutions. commercial and able to solve practical problems ”. Regarding the mode of operation, the Vice Minister proposed the Executive Board of the Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam in the next term to build the Association into a central organization, where the gathering of leading researchers and experts in the field Electronics and telecommunications to uphold the highest potential of this field. The Association needs to change its operating method, more proactively to catch up with development needs in the new situation. Vietnam Association of Telecoms and Telecoms must be a place connecting scientists, leading experts in the field of electronics and telecommunications with Vietnamese technology enterprises, promoting innovation and training quality human resources.

Also at the ceremony, Vice Minister Pham Hong Hai awarded a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Information and Communications to the The Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam in order to recognize the contribution of the Association in the 30-year journey of construction and development.

Speaking at the Celebration and Congress, Prof. Dr.Sc. Dang Vu Minh has acknowledged and appreciated the results that The Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam and Industry has achieved during the past 30 years, contributing to the development of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations. President Dang Vu Minh emphasized, the biggest contribution of the Radio Association – Vietnam Electronics is the Association that has become a solid spiritual foundation to gather and unite the intellectuals in the electronics – telecommunications industry , contributing to maintaining political stability and national development.

On this occasion, the President of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations has awarded certificates of merit and encouragement to The Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam.

Also at this ceremony, The Radio and Electronics Association of Viet Nam gave certificates of merit to collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing the Association.
